If you would like to make a donation today and become part of the founding community supporting Ionad Hiort | St Kilda Centre, you can do so below.
BEFORE YOU DONATE
Ionad Hiort | St Kilda Centre is working to create a thoughtful, world-class home for the stories, collections and legacy of St Kilda.
Donations at this stage will enable the project to continue the drive for philanthropic funding which will provide 'match funding' for existing and anticipated statutory funds. This includes costs associated to the continuation of the social media promotion and making applications to different funding organisations. Donations will also support:
The Gaelic language and culture which were at the very heart of St Kildan life and will run through every aspect of the Centre and its work.
The Interpretation representing the resilience and survival of communities and cultures on the verge of extinction.
The Centre itself which represents a powerful statement of intent to maintain a Gaelic identity in the peripheral and economically fragile area in which it is located.
The Roof Plan structures evoking the ancient storage cleites of St Kilda, each with a different interpretation themes including: the impact of severe weather on the survival of St Kilda: wartime and military activity on St Kilda and at the centre's own site: the globally significant bird life of St Kilda: the geology, marine and natural environment of the island.
Every contribution, large or small, helps us take this work forward in a careful and responsible way.
IF THE PROJECT DOES NOT PROCEED
If the project does not proceed in its current form, it is intended that any funds raised but not yet spent at that time will be applied in furtherance of Ionad Hiort’s charitable aims, as set out in its governing documents. This may include work already undertaken to explore, develop and safeguard the project, as well as related heritage, education, conservation, or community-focused activity aligned with the Trust’s purpose. If the charity is wound up, then in accordance with Article 33 of the Articles of Association of the charity, any property remaining after satisfaction of all the company’s debts and liabilities shall be transferred to such body or bodies as may be determined by the members of the Company to be used solely for a charitable purpose or charitable purposes.
